Asks Voters to Support Pontoriero, deJong and Ambrosino
“If you think I’m doing a good job as Mayor, vote for me and my Council Team.” Mayor John Ducey is running for re-election with Councilwoman Marianna Pontoriero, Councilwoman Heather deJong and Derrick Ambrosino. The election is this Tuesday, November 2nd.
Ducey spoke about what each team member brings to the table, “The reason we’ve been so successful here in Brick is that we work as a team. Councilwoman Marianna Pontoriero took the lead as Chair of Public Safety in supporting our Police and the neighborhood watch program.”
Ducey continued, “Councilwoman Heather deJong championed the successful “Buy in Brick” program and is working with me on getting the new Senior Center up and running. Derrick Ambrosino brings his experience with the Brick MUA and his nearly 2 decades of experience in technology which he will use to help our town run more efficiently and cost effectively. Together, we will continue to Make Brick Better.”
Throughout the campaign, Mayor Ducey has highlighted his team’s record on stabilizing taxes and improving quality of life. Councilwoman deJong explained, “In some towns, the Mayor and Council don’t get along. Everyone wastes energy fighting, and nothing gets done. Here in Brick, we work together. We’ve renovated our parks, reduced crime, have great events like the Farmer’s Market and Summerfest, and have added new services for Brick seniors and families.“
Councilwoman Pontoriero added, “When John and I were first elected in 2013, we had our work cut out for us. But we all pitched in, and things got better quickly. We eliminated the red light cameras in the first month. Next came stabilizing taxes, getting rid of high paid patronage jobs, and reducing debt. When our Mayor and Council work together, good things get done!”
